NOWPAP Databases
Information Resources
- NowpapIR (Information Resources) provide access to available coastal, marine, ecological and marine environment information on NOWPAP area of each member country which is scattered among various sources (data bases, archives, reports, books, papers, atlases, websites) primary existing in different languages and hence, limited for wide use.
It serves as an exchange platform integrating available information resources (IRs) distributed within the NOWPAP area into unified space and linking to websites/pages of member countries and RACs.
NowpapIR makes provision of DINRAC services through the decentralized internet communication network supposed to provide modes of on-line creation of new IRs description, search data, information and products by countries, different categories and parameters that supporting data dissemination, exchange and decisions-making process among the countries.
Available national IRs of the region are searchable by the Countries, Main objects/categories, Main sources of contaminants, Marine environment quality indicators and Main Marine pollution characteristics as follow:

Search is implemented in two stages. At the first stage search in the base of the metadata, including the description of information resources is carried out. At the second stage, for the information resources loaded into databases, through applications, the data access and provision of the information is fulfilled.

Contaminants & Nutrients
- NowpapC&N (Contaminants & Nutrients) - a Database on the information related to the contaminants and nutrients in the marine and coastal environment in the NOWPAP region. NowpapC&N serves as an entry to access many information sources mainly in the NOWPAP region. People can find what sort of contaminants and/or nutrients, in which geographic scope, who conducted the survey/investigation and some technical details such as observation parameters, analytical methods and sampling frequency, when the activity carried out and to whom can be contacted, of course, online linkage URL included.

Marine Protected Areas
- NowpapMPAs (Marine Protected Areas)- a Database on Marine Protected Areas in the Northwest Pacific Region, which is developed and maintained by NOWPAP DINRAC, has given a review and understanding on the current situation and development of nature reserves, including the location, name, level, type, area, nature condition, social and economical situation, management, marine protected species, species diversity and list of endangered species, so as to promote information exchange and distribution on marine and coastal environmental protection in the NOWPAP Region.

Standards

It contains relevant environmental standards in China, Korea, Japan and Russia related to marine environment, and relevant environmental monitoring mechanisms in Japan and Korea. This collection is still at an early stage and will be continuously updated in the future.
