Natural environment
- “Cochlo” mainly occurs from June to October. Especially, “Cochlo” forms red tides from August to September. Natural environmental condition during blooming is salinity 32 to 34 and water temperature 25 to 28 ℃. However “Cochlo” red tides has been reported from November to December, too.
Culture condition in laboratory
- In laboratory condition “Cochlo” grow under water temperature 10 to 32.5 ℃, salinity 15 to 36 and light intensity 30 to 230 μmol/m2/sec. The optimum condition for growth is water temperature 20 to 27.5, salinity 28 to 35 and light intensity exceeding 90 μmol/m2/sec.
