The First NOWPAP CEARAC Focal Points Meeting
The First NOWPAP CEARAC Focal Points Meeting was held from 25th to 28th of February 2003 in Toyama, Japan. The nominated Focal Points of the four NOWPAP Members, UNEP, the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Environmental Remote Sensing Regional Activity Center of the Mediterranean Action Plan (MAP/ERSRAC), NOWPAP/MERRAC, NOWPAP/POMRAC and the Secretariat of CEARAC participated in the meeting. The meeting finalized the Terms of Reference of CEARAC Focal Points Meeting and discussed and defined the activities of Working Group 3 on Harmful Algae Blooms (HAB) and Working Group 4 on Remote Sensing (RS) respectively. The meeting also discussed and agreed on the CEARAC work priorities and work plan for 2003.
The second Focal Points Meeting is planned to be held in January 2004 in Toyama, Japan.
